World Migratory Bird Day Activities | Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge

Celebrate the connections between people, wildlife, and the natural world at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge on Friday, October 2, 2026.

From 4:00–8:00 p.m., enjoy free, family-friendly activities celebrating World Migratory Bird Day and the remarkable journeys birds make from Western New York to wintering grounds throughout Mexico, Central America, and South America. Learn how habitats protected here connect to ecosystems across the hemisphere while taking part in bird mask making, pinecone bird feeder making, a mock bird banding station, a bird-friendly promise poster, and activities featuring species such as the Purple Martin and Eastern Bluebird.

From 5:00–6:30 p.m., Amor and Heritage – Traditional Dance Company will share Hispanic culture through traditional dance, music, stories, and cultural heritage.

The event takes place at 1101 Casey Road, Basom, NY 14013 and is free and open to all.
