Using aquatic nets, Wayne Gall will sample aquatic insects and other underwater creatures from Onondaga Pool for observation in white plastic pans filled with water. After identifying and discussing their natural history, the aquatic organisms will be returned alive to Onondaga Pool. Meet at the parking lot for Onondaga Trail on Sour Springs Road north of Roberts Road and south of Oak Orchard Creek.

Location: Onondaga Trail at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge on Sour Springs Road.

Accessibility & Things to know: Meet at the parking lot for Onondaga Trail on Sour Springs Road north of Roberts Road and south of Oak Orchard Creek. Participants should consider bringing water, wearing long pants and long sleeves, and bring insect repellent that may be needed for mosquitoes, deer and horse flies. Repellent recommended is one whose active ingredient is oil of lemon eucalyptus.
