Rhythms of the Refuge | Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge

Join Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge for the final installment of the 2026 Rhythms of the Refuge series on Friday, October 2, 2026, bringing together music, dance, culture, and nature in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and World Migratory Bird Day.

From 4:00–8:00 p.m., enjoy family-friendly World Migratory Bird Day activities and learn about the remarkable journeys of birds traveling from Western New York to wintering grounds throughout Mexico, Central America, and South America. Discover how habitats protected at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge connect to ecosystems across the hemisphere.

From 5:00–6:30 p.m., Amor and Heritage – Traditional Dance Company will share the vibrant traditions of Hispanic culture through traditional dance and music, highlighting the stories and cultural heritage of Hispanic communities.

One evening brings these two celebrations together through a shared theme of connection—from the cultures we celebrate to the birds that travel thousands of miles across the landscapes we share.

The event takes place at 1101 Casey Road, Basom, NY 14013 and is free and open to all.
