Lys Kirby is a dance performer, choreographer, and teacher who graduated with their MFA in Dance from SUNY Brockport in 2024. Kirby is studying to become a Certified Movement Analyst through the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies in Brooklyn, New York. They currently teach at Genesee IGNITE, a higher education experience program for adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities at SUNY Genesee Community College. Kirby’s recent choreographic credits include ROCeltic’s “The Next Generation” at the ESL Rochester Fringe Festival (2025) as well as their MFA Thesis Concert “Layers of Us” (2024), New Dancers Showcase (2022), and DANCE/Hartwell (2021) at SUNY Brockport.

This class encourages self-expression and creativity through dance! Students will learn how to channel their emotions into movement, engage their senses, and develop their mind-body connections through elements of movement such body, effort/quality, shape, space, and time.

Thursdays from 5-6pm. Classes are grouped monthly.
