Wonderland of Trees Returns for Its 26th Year at a New Location

A favorite local holiday tradition is returning for its 26th year with a new location and a fitting theme: “Christmas Under Construction.”

Due to renovations at the Holland Land Office Museum, this year’s Wonderland of Trees will be held at the former JCPenney store in the Batavia City Centre. The temporary location will be filled with decorated trees and holiday displays created by local businesses and organizations.

Opening Gala — November 20

The season begins with the Wonderland of Trees Opening Gala on Friday, November 20, from 6:00–8:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy the holiday displays, food and refreshments, music, and a selection of gift baskets available through the event’s basket raffle.

Opening Gala tickets are $20 for the general public, $15 for museum members, and $5 for children ages 12 and under.

Visit Throughout the Holiday Season

Can’t make the opening gala? Wonderland of Trees will continue through the end of December, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to experience the displays during the holiday season. Admission is included with regular museum admission.

The basket raffle will also continue throughout the season, with winners drawn at the end of the day on Saturday, December 19. Raffle tickets are $5 per sheet of 25 tickets or $20 for five sheets.

Additional holiday events will be held throughout the season.

Businesses and Organizations Can Get Involved

Wonderland of Trees brings together local businesses, nonprofits and community organizations to celebrate the season while supporting the Holland Land Office Museum’s historical and educational programming.

Organizations can participate by decorating a tree or picture, contributing a gift basket or gift certificate, or becoming an event sponsor. Participating businesses and organizations are eligible for recognition in the Wonderland of Trees program and on the museum’s Facebook page and website, as well as membership in the Holland Purchase Historical Society.

Not-for-profit organizations may participate for $10; sponsorship is optional for nonprofits but includes the promotional benefits listed above. Trees may be decorated beginning November 1 through opening night.

All proceeds from Wonderland of Trees support the Holland Land Office Museum’s operating costs and educational programs for the public.
