The Hope Center’s Fresh Start Tutoring Program is growing and seeking caring, dependable volunteer tutors to help support learners throughout the community.

Led by a dedicated team of volunteers, Fresh Start Tutoring provides free academic assistance to:

  • Students in grades K–6 experiencing challenges in reading or math
  • Students in grades 7–12 experiencing challenges in math or science
  • Adult literacy learners

Students receive weekly 30-minute tutoring sessions throughout the school year. The Hope Center works closely with the Le Roy Central School District and surrounding districts to identify students who may benefit from additional support.

After each session, parents receive a progress report and are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s education. The program also provides guidance to help parents become confident partners in their child’s learning journey.

Volunteers do not need a background in education. If you have knowledge to share, a favorite subject or a desire to help others learn, your time and encouragement can make a meaningful difference.

For more information about Fresh Start Tutoring or becoming a volunteer tutor, contact Program Director Amy Thompson.
