RTS On Demand Restructuring in Monroe County

What are the changes RTS is making to RTS On Demand?

Starting September 7, 2026, RTS is eliminating RTS On Demand weekend service and RTS On Demand evening service on weekdays after 8:00 p.m.

Why is RTS making these changes?

These changes are part of an ongoing effort to address a structural budget deficit and help ensure the long-term financial health and sustainability of the public transit system.

Will these changes have any effect on RTS' regular bus service, paratransit service or regional/rural service?

No. These changes are specific to RTS On Demand in Monroe County and will have no effect on RTS Connect (fixed route service), RTS Access (paratransit service), or any RTS service outside Monroe County.

Are any RTS employees being laid off because of these changes?

No, there will be no layoffs because of these changes.
