BATAVIA, NY — The Genesee County Master Gardeners are collecting new, unwrapped books for children and teens, from infants through age 18. Donations will go to the Batavia Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Angel Tree program, which provides gifts to local families in need.
The Salvation Army has requested books including graphic novels (such as Dog Man, Cat Kid, or Captain Underpants), elementary-age books, early reader chapter books, and young adult fiction.
Books can be dropped off at the Genesee County Cornell Cooperative Extension office, located at 420 East Main Street in Batavia, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A collection box is located near the reception area window. Donations will be accepted through December 5.
The Genesee County Master Gardeners thank the community for their support.
