BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

Valle Jewelers

For 70 years, Valle Jewelers has been a fixture in Downtown Batavia providing customers from all over Western New York with a high quality shopping experience. Family owned and operated for three generations, Valle Jeweler’s is a true staple of the local business community in Genesee County NY. They are incredibly active within the Batavia Improvement District and with their support of numerous non-profit agencies in the area. We are proud to honor them as our 2021 Business Of The Year.

AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

Alleghany Farm Services

Since 1983, Alleghany Farm Services has been providing the agricultural community of Genesee County NY with the construction and farm drainage services they required. They have been continually expanding and although headquartered in Basom NY, they do business in six states beyond New York. The Klotzbach’s are active members in the agricultural community and constantly show their support of local farmers and local farming initiatives. We are proud to honor them as our 2021 Agricultural Business Of The Year.

ENTREPRENEURIAL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

Batavia Muckdogs Baseball

Professional baseball has been a staple of summer life in Batavia for over 80 years. In 2019, after a relatively successful season, the MLB decided to jettison 42 minor league teams, including Batavia. Enter Robbie Nichols, who in 2021 announced he had negotiated a lease with the City of Batavia to bring The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League to Dwyer Stadium. Robbie and his wife Nellie, along with their son-in law Marc Witt, threw themselves into this community and actively promoted the new team and league to the people of Genesee County. After an incredibly successful first year and many new community events created, we are honored to present them as our 2021 Entrepreneurial Business Of The Year.
